49 persons lost lives in road accidents in Mysuru during January-June

Mysore/Mysuru: As many as 49 persons lost their lives in 309 road accidents that took place across the city in the first six months of this year (Jan.1, 2020 to June 30, 2020). 

Out of these,13 persons died of head injuries sustained due to helmetless riding. While some died on the spot, others died in hospital. The wearing of helmets could have saved their lives, according to the City Traffic Police.

A total of 12 persons died in 84 accidents that took place in January 2020, while 16 died in 68 accidents in February, 8 in 65 accidents in March, one in April in 14 accidents, 6 in May in 32 accidents and 6 in 46 accidents in June.
