51,000 Guest Teachers to be appointed

In a move aimed at overcoming teacher shortage in Government Schools, the Department of School Education and Literacy has issued an official notification for appointment of 51,000 Guest Teachers on a temporary basis at the start of the new academic year itself.

According to the notification, as many as 40,000 teachers will be appointed for Primary Schools and 11,000 for High Schools. However, this recruitment is temporary and will be valid only till the end of the academic year (2026-27).

At the same time, the Government has asked the concerned authorities to submit a proposal on the grants required for payment of wages to the newly appointed Guest Teachers and district-wise and taluk wise allotment of Guest Teachers.
