5th Ramotsava programmes by Ganapathi Seva Mandali Trust from tomorrow

Sri Ganapathi Seva Mandali Trust, Ramakrishnanagar, has been conducting Ramotsava programmes since 1998 and is catering to the cultural needs of residents of Ramakrishnanagar, Sharadadevinagar and Kanakadasanagar. The Trust has been conducting variety of programmes along with classical music. All programmes are conducted at Rajath Sabha Mantapa of Ganapathi Temple, I Block, Ramakrishnanagar, Mysuru. Details of the 5th Ramotsava programmes are as follows:

Apr. 9 — 6 pm: Bhajans by Sharadadevi Mahila Samaja; 7 pm to 8 pm: Panchanga Shravana by Ve. Br. Sri Shreedhara Sharma.

Apr. 10 — 6 pm: Bhajans by Siddhivinayaka Bhajana Mandali; 6.30 pm: Bhakti Sangeetha by Vidu. Sinchana (a Mysurean working as Music teacher at Chinmaya School, Mandya); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bharatanatyam by Dr. Nagalakshmi Nagarajan (a disciple of Vasanthalakshmi and Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, Dr. Nagalakshmi is the Founder of Champaka Academy, Mysuru.)

Apr. 11 — 6 pm to 8 pm: Various folk arts performances — Dollu Kunita, Kamsale Hadugalu and Puja Kunita — by Janapada Madilu Samajika mattu Samskritaka Trust.

Apr. 12 — 6 pm: Bhajans by Swaranjali Sangeetha Kendra; 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bansuri Vadana by Vid. Sameer Rao accompanied by Vid. Adarsha Shenoi on tabla. (Sameer Rao started learning music under Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath in Mysuru at the age of 11. In 2002, he joined Vrindaban Gurukul in Mumbai and learnt Bansuri Vadana under Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia).

Apr. 13 — 6 pm: Bhajans by students of Vidu. Gayathri Sathyanarayan; 6.30 pm to 8 pm: Gamaka ‘Sundarakanda from Ramayana Darshanam.’ Vaachana by Vidu. Mahima Kashyap and Vyakhyaana by Dr. Jyothi Shankar (a Kannada Professor by profession, Dr. Jyothi is renowned across the country for over a decade in Vyakhyaana).

Apr. 14 — 6 pm: Bhajans by Ranjani Ganakala Shale troupe; 6.30 pm to 8 pm: Classical Music and Devaranama by Vidu. Pavani Bharadwaj of Bengaluru accompanied by Vid. Tandavamurthy on violin and Vid. Dasappa on mridanga (Vidu. Pavani hails from a family of musicians. After completing her BE degree, Pavani passed out MA in Music with Gold medal. She has performed at various platforms including Akashvani Sangeetha Sammelana, Ganakala Parishat and others).

Apr. 15 — 6 pm: ‘Sathya Harishchandra’ puppet show by Sri Rameswara Krupa Poshita Yakshagana Sutrada Gombe Mela of Hallere village in Nanjangud taluk (This Sutrada Gombe Mela has been performing since the times of Maharajas and was also honoured with gold medal for their performance. The troupe has performed across the globe).

Apr. 16 — 6 pm: Bhajans by students of Swara Ragalaya Sangeetha Kendra; 6.30 pm to 8 pm: Classical Music Concert by Vidu. Keertana accompanied by Vid. M.D. Arjun on violin and Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy on mridanga (Daughter of Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy, Vidu. Keertana is the disciple of Vidu. R.N. Srilatha. Keertana is currently pursuing her Engineering at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru.)

Apr. 17 — 9 am: Ramataraka Homa; 11 am: Pattabhisheka Puja and Parayana. Nritya Seve by Vidu. Suraksha Deekshith; Sangeetha Seve by Vidu. Chaitrika; 1 pm: Mahamangalarati and Prasada Viniyoga; 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Vocal Concert by Vid. Sandeep Narayan of Chennai accompanied by Vid. Nishanth Chandar on violin,  Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. Sharath Koushik on ghata (Vid. Sandeep Narayan started learning music from his mother Shubha Narayan at the age of 4 and later was trained under Sanjay Subramanya. Having the credit of giving a full-fledged concert at the age of 11, Vid. Sandeep is now a renowned classical musician across the globe.)

Apr. 18 — 6 pm: Bhajans by students of Sri Lakshmi Janardhana Shloka Taragathi; 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm: Lecture on ‘Ramayanadalli Aanjaneyana Paatra’ by Vidu. Nagalakshmi (a native of Nagamangala, Vidu. Nagalakshmi has done MA, M.Ed. She has also completed Alankara Shastra, Advaita Vedanta Shastra degrees from Maharaja Sanskrit College. She has been giving lectures on Sanatana Dharma for over 25 years now).
