60th Heritage Music Festival concludes: SPVGMC Trust thanks artistes, music-lovers

Mysore/Mysuru: The 60th Heritage Music Festival, organised by Sri Prasanna Vidya Ganapathi Mandali Charitable (SPVGMC) Trust at 8th Cross in V.V. Mohalla, concluded last evening with a vocal duet by Trichur Brothers  Vid. Ramkumar Mohan and Vid. Krishna Mohan.

Popular as ‘8th Cross Ganesha Music Festival’ as concerts are organised every year during the Ganesha Festival in August-September at 8th Cross Pandal, for the first time the Heritage Music Festival was held in the month of January. Following COVID outbreak, the previous edition (the 59th Festival) was held online in 2020.

Many renowned artistes performed at this prestigious venue every day from Jan. 6, excluding weekend curfew, at 6.15 pm till Jan. 28. Kavya Vaachana was held between 5.15 pm and 6.15 pm daily.

In a press release, SPVGMC Trust has thanked all the artistes who came all the way from various places and performed in the Diamond Jubilee Music Festival even in this tough pandemic situation.

“There were a few last minute changes in the festival as some of the artistes could not come and perform due to quarantine etc. But still with the love, support and affection on our Trust some of the artistes agreed for last minute requests and performed at the Pandal. We express our gratitude to all the artistes without whom this music festival could not have been conducted successfully,” said Trust Secretary C.R. Himamshu.

SPVGMC has also thanked all the kalarasikas, music-lovers, donors, patrons, Police Department,  authorities of CESC and MCC, Media and each and everyone who helped directly or indirectly with their unconditional support in the smooth conduct of the music festival.

SPVGMC Trust Patron Vasu, President M. Jagannath Shenoy, Vice-President Lakshminarayan and all other Trustees too extended valuable support in hosting the Diamond Jubilee Heritage Music Festival in COVID times.
