Mysore/Mysuru: A total of 620 Government employees including their family members were administered with COVID vaccine at a drive organised by Karnataka State Government Employees Association at its District Unit Office on Dhanvanthri Road on Sunday.
Speaking after launching the vaccine drive, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said, “Vaccination drive was taking place across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very much concerned towards protecting the health of every citizen and has directed officials concerned to administer vaccine to every citizen of this country.”
Association President G. Govindaraju said, “620 members received vaccination on the first day of the drive, which will continue and the next date of vaccination drive will be announced soon.”
Association General Secretary Revanna, Members C.S. Ramesh Kumar, D. Anand, S.J. Ramesh, Varadaraju, Malangi Suresh, Raghu, H.M. Girish, Revanna Vasanth, S. Somanna, D.C. Lokesh, R. Balakrishna, M.M. Rathi, Prema Pinto, B. Lalitha, Retired Employees Association President B.R. Umakanth and others were present.
Vaccination drives held in city
Vaccination drives were held at various places across the city too in which MP Pratap Simha took part.
The vaccine drive for Pourakarmikas and Safai Karmacharis was held at Navodaya Layout in J.P. Nagar Second Stage, near Hebbal Industrial Area.
Later, MP Simha visited CITB Choultry in Kurubarahalli and distributed food kits to the families affected by COVID-19.
Fund to renovate mini auditorium sought
Meanwhile, the State Government Employees Association has submitted a memorandum to the MP requesting Rs. 10 lakh fund to take up renovation works of the mini auditorium.
Association President J. Govindaraju, who handed over the memorandum to the MP, told him (Simha) to provide the fund for the renovation of auditorium, as it would help the Association to conduct cultural events for public. Association General Secretary Revanna and members were present.
