91st University of Mysore Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet: PGSC bags overall championship

Post Graduate Sports Council (PGSC), Manasagangothri, Mysuru, with 99 points clinched the overall team championship title in the women’s section at the 91st Annual University of Mysore Inter-collegiate Athletic Meet 2019 that concluded here yesterday. Meanwhile, Vidyashrama FGC (VFGC) with 89 points won the overall championship in the men’s section.

Baby Sabu of Basudeva Somani FGC (971 points) won the Best Athlete title in the men’s section while B.K. Bhavana of Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru (978 points) won the Best Athlete title in the                                                             women’s section.

Sushma excels

M.N. Sushma of Basudeva Somani FGC created a New Meet Record in the women’s discus throw with a throw of 39.40 mts, erasing the previous mark of 38.88 mts set by M.S. Navya Shetty of Basudeva Somani FGC in 2016-17.

P.M. Abhilash of D.D. Urs FGC, Hunsur emerged as the fastest athlete in the men’s section by breasting the 100 mts tape with a timing of 11.75 sec.
