9th RNM Memorial Road Race-2019: Bellanayaka, Veena bag top honours

Asian Para Games medallist, veteran athletes feted

Bellanayaka (Unique Athletic Club) and M. Veena (Vidyadarshini, Kurubur) hogged the limelight by winning first place respectively in the Men and Women sections (16-39 years) of two kilometres category in the 9th RNM (R. Narasimhamurthy) Memorial Road Race -2019 (Run for Health) conducted by Mysuru District Masters Athletic Association here on Wednesday.

2 kms for 16-39 years

Basavanna (KKSC); Women: 1. M. Veena, 2. Manjula, 3. B. Chaitra, 4. K.R. Tejashwini, 5. R. Arpita and  6. K. Anusha (all from Vidyadarshini, Kurubur).

1 km for 40 years & above

Men: 1. S.M. Chaluve Gowda (Mahajana FGC), 2. S.M. Harish (JK Tyres), 3. M.D. Nagendra (City Police), 4. P.V. Ravindra (CFTRI), 5. H.D. Lakshmeesha (RBI) and 6. D. Nagesh (WIPRO); Women: 1. M.S. Saroja and 2. V. Sumati (both Government School teachers).

2 kms for 11-15 years

Boys: 1. Likith (Citizen Public School, Nanjangud), 2. C. Nikhil (Unique Athletic Club), 3. N. Doreswamy (Nirvana High School, Kurubur), 4. Hitesh Kumar (Excellent SC), 5. Krishna Prasad (Nirvana HS, Kurubur), 6. Mahadeva Swamy (Nirvana HS, Kurubur), 7. Manoja Kumar (Nirvana HS, Kurubur); Girls: 1. C. Monika, 2. N. Mounishri, 3. S. Meghana, 4. Madalambika, 5. Vidya, 6. M. Aishwarya, 7. U.M. Nisarga (all from Vidyadarshini HS, Kurubur).

Earlier, the Race was flagged off by Mayor Pushpalatha Jaganath in front of the DC’s office in the presence of University of Mysore’s  DPE Director (in-Charge) Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Association Vice-President K.N. Somashekar, Secretary P.G. Sathyanarayana, Senior Joint Secretary M.P. Chandrashekar and others.
