Illegal sale of liquor: DC suspends licences of two liquor shops

Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has ordered suspension of licences of two liquor shops on charges of illegal sale of liquor as the code of conduct is in force for Nanjangud by-poll.

The liquor shops, whose licenses are suspended from Mar. 22 to Apr. 10, are Shiva Wine Store in Hullahalli and a MSIL liquor outlet in Yedatale village.

The District Administration, in a bid to maintain peace and law and order, is taking strict action against those found transporting & selling liquor illegally and violating Excise rules and had booked five cases during the raids conducted between  Mar. 17 and 21. Four persons were arrested and a total of 48,360 litres of liquor and two bikes were seized.
