College Day celebrated

Mysuru: JSS College of Physiotherapy, Mysuru, celebrated the College Day for 2017-18 at Dr. Rajendra auditorium recently.

Vid. Ramamurthy, retired Principal, JSS College of Commerce, Nanjangud, and a renowned dancer and singer, was the chief guest on the occasion.

After distributing prizes to the winners of various events, held for the year, he spoke about the close relationship between physiotherapy and dance.

He appreciated the role played by Physiotherapists in management of different conditions and advised the students to be engaged in some hobby apart from career.

Dr. Ajay Prasad Gautam, alumnus of the College and Professor and Head, Department of Physiotherapy, Abhilashi University, Himachal Pradesh, was felicitated on the occasion by the Alumni Association of the College for being the first Alumni to obtain a Ph.D degree. He recollected his earlier days as a second batch UG student of the College, and the guidance given by the faculty of the College in shaping his career.

R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, presided over the function. College Principal Dr. Kavitha Raja presented the annual College report.

Rashid, President, Students Council and student editor of the college magazine ‘SWAASHTHYA 2018’ which was released on the occasion, shared his experiences on the efforts taken by the Magazine Committee in getting the magazine ready for release on time.

Lecturer Belle Sharvani compered. Lecturer Asif proposed a vote of thanks. Cultural programme followed the formal function which was cherished by all students.
