Mysuru: Even as the pub assault case of Mohammed Nalapad, son of MLA N.A. Haris, in Bengaluru is fresh in the minds of people, a girl student has been allegedly assaulted by her friend’s husband and his accomplices near a Pub in V.V. Mohalla here on Saturday evening. The girl, who was assaulted, has been identified as 21-year-old Mahalakshmi, a resident of Vijayanagar 3rd Stage in city.
It is said, the Mahalakshmi, after attending a party along with her friend Amrutha, on Saturday at the Pub near Panchavati Circle in V.V. Mohalla, came out only to be confronted by Amrutha’s husband Umesh Kumar and his accomplice Vivek.
They reportedly behaved in an indecent manner and assaulted Mahalakshmi with a dagger over an old enmity involving a case in Maddur. It is said that there is a divorce case between Amrutha and Umesh.
In her complaint, Mahalakshmi has stated that Umesh and Vivek pushed her around and even tore her clothes. Later, Ravish and Dinesh, who were with Umesh, joined the two and abused her using foul language besides threatening her with life if she complained to the Police. Following the incident, Mahalakshmi lodged a complaint against them at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station on Sunday. Meanwhile, Jayalakshmipuram Police Inspector Prakash told Star of Mysore this morning that they have registered a case against Umesh and added that they will arrest him soon.
Stating that they have launched a hunt to nab Umesh, the Inspector said that they would also arrest the remaining accused only if Mahalakshmi or Umesh identify them.
Pub in mysore, that too in v.v.mohalla is a shame for this heritage city. These pubs should be discouraged. Mahalakshmi, what an ironic name.
Tats y such a situation, bcoz ppl tink like u, saying n asking y pubs in a heritage city, instead of condenming such action, instead of being horrified at such an incident, some ppl find it more ironic in a name called mahalaxmi, rather than their own tots. Now isn’t tat ironic coming from ppl staying in such a heritage city
Well there should be Zero tolerence for Rowdyism, Police is on Hunt, Story not clear..
