Mysuru: On Sunday, 22nd July, Swarasankula Sangeetha Sabha has organised two music concerts at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha premises on JLB Road.
The artiste of the first Hindustani vocal concert at 5.30 pm is Varchas Srinivas, who started his musical voyage at the young age of six under late Pandit Vireswar Madri in Chennai and later under Sandhya Kelkar in Pune. He has also successfully completed his ‘Visharad’ exam conducted by Akhil Bharath Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. He has a foothold in the field of drama (in Marathi and Hindi) and has been a music director for amateur films in Pune. He holds a B.E. Degree in Engineering and is working as a Software Engineer in a reputed international Company in Pune. Varchas will be accompanied on harmonium by Pandit Veera Bhadrayya Hiremutt and on tabla by Pandit Bhimashankar Bidanur.
Twenty-three year young Varchas is the grandson of M.L. Krishnaswami, a columnist of Star of Mysore.
The second concert of the evening starts at 7 pm and the artiste is Pandit Ashvin Valavalkar (from Bengaluru) who is a reputed artiste on ‘Santur’. He will be accompanied on tabla by Pandit Bhimashankar.
Ashvin Valavalkar, coming from a musical family, started his career as a child artiste and chose Santur as his instrument. He is trained under his father and gained proficiency on the instrument under the famous Santur artiste Padma Shree Sathish Vyas in Mumbai. Pandit Ashwin is a B-High Graded AIR artiste in both Santur and Harmonium. He has given concerts in Pune, Mumbai, Chandigarh and has crossed the ocean also for programmes in Europe and UAE. He has directed music programmes for many events. The Sabha welcomes all music-lovers for the event.
