BJP will win MCC polls, asserts Ramdas

August 27, 2018

Mysuru:  Discounting reports on rebellion in the BJP over the choice of party candidates for the MCC polls, K.R. MLA and senior BJP leader S.A. Ramdas has expressed the hope that the party would win an absolute majority in the Aug.31 MCC polls.

Addressing a press meet at a private Hotel here recently, Ramdas said that he was very much pained that the city did not get a BJP Mayor all these days. But now, the situation is completely different and the BJP would win the MCC polls with a comfortable majority, with the party candidates wining from all the 20 MCC Wards coming under K.R. Constituency.

Referring to rain havoc in Kodagu, Ramdas said that Kodagu has been devastated by floods and landslides. “I could not go to Kodagu now because of MCC polls. However, I will visit Kodagu along with a team on Sept.5, during which Rs.11 lakh will be donated as primary contribution to Flood Relief Fund,” he said.

He further said that all the newly-elected BJP Corporators, post the Aug.31 MCC Polls, will donate one month salary to the Flood Relief Fund.

Replying to a question on rebel BJP candidates still remaining in the fray, he said that Seema Prasad and B.S. Asha have retired from the contest in Ward No.59 and 61 respectively, while effects are on to convince M.V. Ramprasad, who is contesting from Agrahara, to retire from the contest.

Responding to a query on the solution for Kurubarahalli Survey No.4 and Alanahalli Survey No.41 row, Ramdas said that the residents of MUDA Layouts in these Survey Numbers will soon get a relief as the Court will complete hearings pertaining to the issue shortly.

Replying to another question on Prime Minister Modi’s failure to visit flood-ravaged Kodagu, Ramdas said that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the district on Aug.24 to assess the situation. He further said that the Centre will extend all help for rebuilding flood-ravaged Kodagu.
