Purses, vanity bag snatched in city

Mysuru: In separate incidents, miscreants have snatched two purses and a vanity bag containing valuables and cash at various Police limits in city. In the first incident, miscreants have snatched a purse of one Samina Moiuddin, a resident of Jayalakshmipuram on Aug. 24.

Samina along with her son and mother-in-law were proceeding on the 6th Main road in Jayalakshmipuram to go to a mall, when two miscreants on a two-wheeler snatched her purse containing her iPhone, Rs. 8,000 cash, debit and credit cards, watch, SIM card and UAE identity card and fled from the spot.

Jayalakshmipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.

In the second incident, miscreants have stolen a vanity bag containing iPhone, ATM cards of various banks, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card and Rs. 1,500 cash  of a tourist which was kept in the car.

The tourist has been identified as Rashad. Rashad, who had come to the city, had parked his car on Devaraj Urs Road. When he came in the night near the car, he saw the right side rear window glass broken and the vanity bag kept in the rear seat stolen.

Devaraja Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.

In the third incident, miscreants have managed to lift a purse of a woman passenger, when the latter was boarding a bus near Hardinge Circle on Aug. 1.

The woman who lost her purse containing 16 grams gold chain and Rs. 4,000 cash is Asharani, a resident of Ramapura, Hanur taluk in Chamarajanagar district.

Asharani, who had come to Mysuru on work on Aug. 1 came to Hardinge Circle to board a bus to her place. While she was boarding the Mysuru-Mettur inter-State bus, miscreants managed to lift the purse containing valuables and cash from the vanity bag and fled. The incident came to light when Asharani opened her vanity bag only to find the purse missing and lodged a complaint.

Nazarbad Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
