September 24, 2018

Mysuru: With lakhs of tourists, both domestic and foreign, visiting the city every year, the City Police have launched a security and safety ‘Mysuraksha’ mobile application for the benefit of tourists.

The Traffic Police, after collecting details of every public transport vehicle and their drivers, prepare QR codes and fix them on the respective vehicles.

The passengers travelling in these vehicles, can download this ‘Mysuraksha’ App through Google Play store and then scan the vehicles’ QR code using the mobile app, to get complete details of the vehicle they are travelling in and its driver.

The passengers travelling in QR coded vehicles can press the SOS button in the ‘MYSURAKSHA’ App in case of any harassment, robbery and such other crimes or offences.

With the pressing of the button, the message goes to the Police Control Room and in turn, the Control Room will pass on the panic message via GPS location to the Patrol vehicle that is nearest to the spot.

The Police Department has also incorporated the necessary communication network to send some important tips on safety and security to all those who have this application.
