Applications invited from SHGs for Basic Literacy Prog.

Mysuru: The Office of the District Adult Education Officer has invited applications from Government recognised Self Help Groups (SHGs) for the implementation of Basic Literacy Programme for the year 2018-19.

The main aim of this programme is to conduct classes of reading, writing and basic maths for 3,910 illiterates (above 15 years) of 17 selected Gram Panchayat limits in seven taluks of the district, in order to make them self -reliant.

Government will provide Rs.3 commission for survey besides Rs.90 incentive to train each illiterate person; Rs.10 incentive to be given for each illiterate who takes part in the Literacy programme, as per the directions from Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI).

The Department will provide all teaching and reading materials for illiterates besides arranging training for teachers. Interested SHGs are requested to meet the District Adult Education Officer at his office on Oct.1 at 11.30 am.
