Miscreant cheats man of Rs.1.5 lakh in the guise of helping withdraw cash at ATM

Mysuru: A miscreant cheating a man to the tune of Rs.1.5 lakh in the guise of helping the man withdraw cash from an ATM has come to light lately in city.

The person, who was cheated by the miscreant, is Krishnegowda. On Sept.20, Krishnegowda was withdrawing cash at the Karnataka Bank ATM near City Bus Stand using his Canara bank Debit Card, when the miscreant, in the guise of helping him, took the Debit Card from Krishnegowda and in a matter of seconds exchanged the Debit Card with another which Krishnegowda did not notice. On Sept.22, when Krishnegowda got his passbook updated, he came to know about that Rs.1.5 lakh had been withdrawn without his knowledge and immediately lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station.

Devaraja Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
