Shreeharsha to present ‘Drushya-Shraavya’

October 16, 2018

Mysuru: Under the Grant-in-Aid from the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, well-known vocalist M.R. Shreeharsha will present ‘Drushya-Shraavya,’ a cultural event based on Music, Dance and Rekhachitra. This unique event will be held on Oct.20 (Saturday) from 5.30 pm onwards at Sri Vasudevacharya Bhavana on JLB Road in city.

The event is presented before the learned audience to give them a holistic enjoyment through arts and with a socio-cultural message.

It will be inaugurated by S. Murali, who will first draw a line on the canvas, pluck shruthi tambura and then light the lamp.

Ministry of Culture’s Grant Expert Committee Member Dr. G.K. Ashwath Harithas will be the chief guest. Shreeharsha’s mother Padmavati and father G.S. Ravishankar will be present on the occasion. Musicologist Dr. R.S. Nandakumar will preside.

After the inauguration, Shreeharsha will present his music with choicest melodious songs followed by dance (Bharathanatyam). Then, Shreeharsha will conclude the feature with more interesting and delectable music. Young and stalwart artistes of Karnataka will feature their art on this occasion.

Shreeeharsha realised that all our arts must also serve a social cause. Thus, this cultural event will come with a message head called as ‘MANASWINI.’

In our world, all that begins, takes birth, finds sustenance to live and concludes a meaningful life is gender specific. In this, the femininity is of prime importance in Indian culture. A female is not just an individual with the gender but she is also the all-important mother, a sister, a daughter, and a loving wife. This humane relationship goes beyond its utility because the power of femininity enshrines and enhances such an individual. Our society’s integrity, culture and prosperity depends on this unique enriching enchantment. This is the concept base of ‘MANASWINI.’
