Mysuru: Members of Mayura Kannada Yuvakara Balaga  conducted a unique ‘Buy and Read Kannada Newspapers’ drive as part of 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations held in front of Dr. Rajkumar bust on Chamaraja Double Road in city.

They appealed people to buy and read Kannada newspapers as part of Kannada promotion measures.

Speaking after inaugurating,  Balaga President Raghavendra asked the people to cultivate the habit of reading Kannada newspapers regularly to broaden their knowledge in all spheres. Purchasing and reading Kannada newspapers also helps for its survival.  He urged the present generation youths to read Kannada books and novels instead of gluing to social networking sites and television channels.

The organisers distributed sweets marking the celebrations.

Balaga members Subramanya, Harish Naidu, Jamir Khan, Altaf, Jameer, Suresh, Nayak, Raaghu, Vinay, Harish and others were present.
