Augment additional AC 3-Tier Coach to Mysuru-Dharwad Express

December 8, 2018

Sir,

We are thankful to the Mysuru Division of South Western Railway for augmenting the new air-conditioned class AC 3-Tier coach (B1) to 16219/16220 Chamarajanagar-Tirupati Express in August this year. It is also happy to note that the Railway Division has augmented an additional AC 3-Tier Coach (B2) to this train very recently (within a span of three months), realising the popularity and ever-growing demand to travel by AC coaches. The augmentation of AC coaches to this train has largely benefited many passengers travelling to Tirupati overnight from Mysuru/Bengaluru.

Further there is also an urgent need to augment an additional AC 3-Tier coach (B2) to 17301/17302 Mysuru-Dharwad Express which runs via Hassan, Arsikere and Hubballi. Of late, the train has gained an intense popularity and patronage owing to its very convenient departure at 22.30 hours from Mysuru. Such a convenient departure time has benefited many people especially working professionals, students, tourists and other regular passengers. However on weekends and festive occasions including Dasara season, there remains a challenge to get a confirmed berth owing to the presence of only a single AC 3-Tier coach (B1).

Hence the augmentation of an additional AC 3-Tier Coach (B2) will justify the ever-growing demand to travel by this overnight train to Hubballi-Dharwad. Such a move will also benefit the passengers of 17307/17308 Mysuru-Bagalkot Basava Express (via Bengaluru-Kalaburagi-Solapur) as it also has an RSA with Mysuru-Dharwad Express.

The Railway administration is requested to urgently augment an additional AC 3-Tier Coach (B2) to 17301/17302 Mysuru-Dharwad Express. The addition of an extra AC 3-Tier coach at least by the upcoming year-end weekend holidays in 2018 and Makara Sankranti festival holidays in early January 2019  will serve in the larger interest of many passengers.
