Writer Hooli  Shekar’s play titled ‘Kariyu Kannadiyolage’ has bagged the first prize in the State-level ‘Vachana Chaluvali’ play contest organised by the Akhila Bharatha Sharana Sahitya Parishat in September last year.  Dr. Nataraja Talaghattapura’s play titled ‘Bayalaroopa’ has bagged the second prize, while writer Sujatha Akki’s play ‘Kayakada Sathyakka’ has bagged the third prize. The first prize winner will get Rs.15,000, the second prize winner Rs.10,000 and the third prize winner will receive Rs.5,000.  Renowned writers Dr. K.Y. Narayanaswamy and Dr. H.L. Pushpa were the Judges of the contest.
