Blame deplorable road conditions to reach booth

Somwarpet (Kodagu): Residents of Hanagallu Shetalli, coming under Hanagallu Gram Panchayat, have decided to boycott the Lok Sabha (LS) election with the main road to access the village in a deplorable condition for several decades indicating gross negligence of officials concerned.

The villagers at a meeting held on Sunday collectively took a decision to boycott the LS election.

The villagers observed that the road was riddled with potholes and craters for years causing inconvenience for moving vehicles.

They contended that appeals have been made in this regard with the elected representatives and officials concerned but to no avail, which has necessitated to boycott the poll as a protest.

Village Development Committee Chairman A.J. Suresh, Vice-Chairman L.J. Doddaiah, Secretary Lakshman and others were present during  the meeting.
