FDA trapped while accepting bribe

April 13, 2019

Mysuru: A First Division Assistant (FDA) of Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) was trapped by the ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) sleuths while accepting bribe from a woman on Friday.

S.P. Vijay, 59, an FDA at KHB Office in Saraswathipuram, was the one who was trapped.

Latha, wife of Ashokapuram Police Station Head Constable B.P. Lokesh and a resident of Srirampura on Manandavadi Road, had sought documents from the KHB after a site was allotted in her name at Kesare. But FDA Vijay had demanded a bribe of Rs.3,000 for issuing the documents, following which Latha lodged a complaint with the ACB Police.

Vijay was accepting Rs.3,000 from Latha at the KHB Office on Friday, when he was trapped and arrested by the ACB sleuths. Vijay was later produced before the Magistrate, when he was remanded to Judicial custody.
