Two bike-riders killed in separate accidents

Mysuru: Two bike-riders were killed in separate road accidents in city on Sunday.

In the first accident, a two-wheeler rider was killed when a lorry rammed into his vehicle neat the Old Toll Gate on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road.

The deceased is Nanjundaswamy (43), a resident of Karekura village in Srirangapatna taluk, who was working at a provision stores in Kesare here.

On Sunday morning, Najundaswamy was proceeding near the Old Toll Gate towards Columbia Asia Hospital on his two-wheeler (KA-55-H-5220), when the lorry (KA-10-7788), which came from the opposite direction, took a turn towards JSS Medical College and rammed into the two-wheeler resulting in Nanjundaswamy suffering serious injuries on his head, face and other parts of his body.

Though he was rushed to the nearby Columbia Asia Hospital, the doctors, who examined him, declared him ‘brought dead.’

Meanwhile, the lorry driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind. Narasimharaja (N.R.) Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.

In another accident, a bike rider was killed when the bike he was riding collided head-on with a car near Mysore Airport  in Mandakalli on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road on Sunday.

The deceased is Basavanna (50), a resident of Nanjangud and owner of a canteen there.

Basavanna was proceeding to Nanjangud from Mysuru, when the car collided with his bike resulting in him suffering from serious injuries.

He was being rushed to a hospital but he breathed his last mid way, according to the Police.

Mysuru South Rural Police have registered a case in this regards and are investigating.
