Indo International Premier Kabaddi League: Exciting win for Chennai over Haryana Heroes

Inspiring attacking play by Sunil Kumar and Elayaraja for Chennai Challengers enabled their team to register an exciting 44-41 win over a fighting Haryana Heroes in the league match of the Indo International Premier Kabaddi match played at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium here last night.

In the last match of the day, spearheaded by attacked Sunil Kumar (16 points from 15 raids), and Elayaraja (7 points) and Ramanjeet Singh (6 points), Chennai Challengers who were trailing 18-23 at half-time pulled off a exciting win over Haryana Heroes.

Sunil Kumar was chosen as the Player of the Match and the Best Raider of the Match, while Sandeep Hooda was chosen as the Best Defender. Sagar Singh was chosen as the Best Productive Raider. Sagar Singh scored 13 points in 11 raids for Haryana Heroes.

Chennai Challengers from their eight games in Zone-B have secured 9 points and are placed second (8 played, 4 win, 3 lost, 1 draw), while Haryana Heros in Zone-A have 5 points and are placed fourth in the Zone.

Bangalore beat Mumbai

In an interesting match, cheered by the local support, Bangalore Rhinos scored a well-earned 36-31 win over Mumbai Che Raje in the second league match of the day. At half time, the winner led 19-11. Excellent play by Vishal of Bangalore Rhinos earned him the Player of the Match and the Best Raider of the Match titles. Vishal scored 14 points in 14 raids and impressed for his team. He was well-supported by Arumugam 6 points and Manoj with 5 points. Mahesh Magdum scored 10 points, while Maniveerakantha scored 8 points for Mumbai.

Bangalore Rhinos have secured 11 points and are placed second in Zone-A, while Mumbai have secured 8 points and are in the third place in Zone-B.

Telugu Bulls score over Pondicherry

Telugu Bulls registered a consolidation win over Pondicherry Predators 36-35 in an exciting opening encounter.

At half time, the winner lead 21-14. G. Jeeva was chosen as the Player of the Match, while R. Suresh Kumar was chosen as the Best Raider.

Anil Patil scored 9 points and Nageshwar Rao 7 points for Telugu Bulls. R. Suresh Kumar scored 9 points while Karunanidhi scored 4 points for Pondicherry Predators.

Telugu Bulls have played 10 games and have secured 4 points and are placed 4th in the Zone-B. Pondicherry, having played 8 games, have secured 6 points and are placed third in Zone-A.

Today’s Matches: Pondicherry Predators Vs Chennai Challengers, 8 pm; Pune Pride Vs Diler Delhi, 9 pm; Haryana Heroes Vs Mumbai Che Raje, 10 pm.
