Mysuru: Ukraine has got a new President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who is a TV star and a comedian.

He assumed office last Monday and the new President hopes to end endemic corruption and prolonged separatist conflicts.

He had won a landslide victory in the elections held last April, leading his political party called ‘Servant of the People’ similar to our own Prime Minister’s opinion of himself as the ‘Chowkidar’ of the people. However, the most interesting and meaningful decision he had taken immediately on becoming the President was to eradicate corruption.

Ukraine’s new President Zelenskiy has ordered the Government Officers to remove his photograph from all Government Offices and in its place hang the photograph of their own children. The new President hopes that these photographs of their own children would make them honest and keep them away from corruption.
