Six shops burgled at Alanahalli; thieves return empty-handed

June 8, 2019

Mysuru: Heavy rains last night provided a golden opportunity for burglars to break into six shops on Alanahalli Ring Road. Though they pried open the shutters,  burglars had to return empty-handed as the shop owners did not keep any cash and valuables at the counters.

The serial thefts were discovered this morning by walkers and passers-by who found the shutters opened from the bottom. They immediately alerted the Police. The shopkeepers had closed their outlets at 10 pm and the thieves broke in to the shops as it rained in the night.

The shops that were burgled included Ganesh Electricals and Hardware, Basaveshwara Pipes and Hardware and Raza Transport. The efforts of burglars went waste as the owners had not kept cash and valuables in any of the shops.

Fingerprint experts and dog squad came to the shops and collected details.

Dogs could not trace the scent as it rained, said sources. Alanahalli Police have registered a case.
