Mysuru: Former Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University, Prof. K.S. Rangappa has hinted at entering politics. In an informal chat with press persons at a programme held at Ideal Jawa Rotary School on JLB here yesterday, Prof. Rangappa said he was facing a lot of pressure from top JD(S) leaders and workers to take a jump into politics.
Maintaining that even JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda, State JD(S) President H.D. Kumaraswamy and other top JD(S) leaders have held talks with him in this regard, Rangappa said he had made up his mind to enter politics.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Prof. Rangappa is planning to contest from Chamaraja Assembly segment.
Prof. Rangappa as VC was instrumental in giving a facelift to both UoM and KSOU.
God Save the residents of chamraja Assembly constituency. If being instrumental in facelift of UOM and KSOU means former is ruined and latter is derecognised, then surely it deserves a Medal of its own category. So I wonder which of the two fates should await Chamraja constituency if he is elected leader ?.
