Mysuru: Paying a musical tribute to legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi, singers Raghavendra Ratnakar, Dr. Preetham Raghavendra and Shreshta K. Rag rendered popular songs of Rafi at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here last evening.

The programme commenced with Shreshta rendering a devotional song, ‘Nee namma geluvagi baa…’ from the movie Shabarimale Swamy Ayyappa.

Raghavendra came out with ‘Main Kahin Kavi Na…’ from Pyar hi Pyar and ‘Aye Gulbadan…’ from Professor. 

Preetham and Raghavendra together sang ‘Teri bindiya re…’ from Abhimaan.

The singers further rendered a good number of Rafi hits covering both slow and fast numbers getting a thunderous applause from the audience.

Inaugurating the programme, former MUDA Chairman K.R. Mohan Kumar lauded Raghavendra Ratnakar for presenting the music programme every year without fail which is a true tribute to the legendary Rafi.

He recalled that at one such programme he had suggested Raghavendra to at least fix an entry fee of Rs.10 for the show which was politely declined by the latter who reluctantly agreed to at least keep a donation box now.
