August 14, 2019

Mysuru:  A team of Pourakarmikas of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has left for Kodagu district on Monday to lend a helping hand in cleaning operations in flood-hit areas.

The team, comprising 20 young civic workers armed with bleaching powder, hand gloves, shoes, masks and other items needed for cleaning process, left in a vehicle belonging to Mysuru Urban Development  Authority (MUDA).

MCC Health Officer Dr. M.S. Jayaram gave directions and suggestions to the team before seeing them off at Town Hall premises.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Dr. Jayaram said that the team was sent on request of the Kodagu District Administration and instruction of the Mysuru DC.

He further said that two Health Inspectors too have accompanied the team who will guide the team for two days and return and added that if need be another batch of 10 civic workers would be sent.

It may be recalled that MCC civic workers had lent a helping hand when flood ravaged Kodagu last year also.
