District-level CITU meet begins

Mysuru:  The 2-day District-level convention of CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Union) began at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Vinoba Road here this morning.

The convention will discuss the labour policies of the Union and State Governments finding solutions to labour problems and organisation of the working class, among other issues.

Earlier, a procession was taken out from Gun House Circle as part of the meet in which, hundreds of Anganawadi and Mid-day meal workers, labourers and other workers took part.

The procession passed through Chamaraja Double Road, N.S. Road, Ambedkar Bhavan, D. Subbaiah Road, D. Devaraj Urs Road and Vinoba Road before reaching Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry. CITU State General Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram will inaugurate the meet later this afternoon.
