An appeal to SWR

May 2, 2017

Sir,

On 17th April, I travelled from Bengaluru to Mysuru by Super Fast Tipu Express which is scheduled for a single stop at Mandya.  But on the said day for reasons unknown, it had two unscheduled stoppages, of almost 5 minutes near Maddur and 10 minutes at Pandavapura Station, causing delayed arrival at Mysuru by over 20 minutes.

SWR never had the courtesy to even announce the cause for the unscheduled stoppage at least in Mandya Station.   When the fare is put in par with the swift journey it is supposed to offer, does the Railway not owe an explanation or at least an announcement to that effect?

I also observe that the lift at Mysuru Railway Station is unmanned. Every time people board it beyond capacity and the doors do not shut for this reason. With none ready to unboard, there is chaos always.  An operator is very much needed to control and regulate the crowd.  Will the SWR look into these issues?
