Roopa Iyer, Actor-Director and Spiritual Writer, has been nominated as the President of Karnataka State Youth Wing of Pradhan Mantri Jan Kalyan Yojana Publicity Campaign, according to an Order issued by Youth Wing National President Bharat Katyayana. A resident of Geetha Road in Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, Roopa Iyer has initiated various programmes including ‘Makkalinda Makkaligagi’ spoken language training for slum children, industrial training and Bhagavad Gita classes for jail inmates, free Ayushman Health Card distribution under Kshemabhiyana, assistance in education and health care for AIDS-affected children and awareness programmes through films and cultural programmes.
