Sir,
The article “A Noble Soul on a Noble Mission!” by Dr. Javeed Nayeem in his column “Over a cup of evening tea” (SOM dated Sept. 13) was really an apt one and those who visit Raghulal’s for buying medicines would surely agree with the author. I generally purchase my regular medicines from Raghulal and sometimes in bulk when I travel to the US to visit my son. I am amazed to see the staff working there with such agility, precision and also a good smile on their faces.
Moreover, I have some special affinity for this shop since I have heard my father always saying “You wouldn’t have been alive today if it was not for Raghulal !”
When I was a little girl in the 1950s, I had an attack of serious Diphtheria and in the middle of the night there was an urgent need for some medicines. My father along with our relative went to their house and requested them. Well, the Raghulal’s heartily obliged and I was saved !
They do deserve laurels for their noble tasks which are being carried on in this generation too.
