Sir,
I would like to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned through this column that starting from the signal in Bamboo Bazaar on Sayyaji Rao Road upto LIC building (Millennium Circle) in Bannimantap, there is not a single pedestrian crossing on the entire stretch. This road being entry and exit route from and to Bengaluru, there is heavy flow of vehicles round-the-clock.
In order to reach the other side of the road, people, especially school children and senior citizens, are crossing half-way and standing on the yellow lines marked as divider for the road, waiting for vehicles to pass-by thinking that they are safe on the yellow lines. They are not aware that in a bid to overtake each other, drivers of buses, trucks and other four-wheelers are running over these yellow lines with a very high speed.
Hence my humble request to the authorities concerned to place at least temporary dividers which can be easily moved at the time of Dasara procession on this stretch to discipline reckless driving and thereby save precious lives.
