Mysuru: As part of felicitation function of Prof. Lalitha Rangarajan, the Department of Studies in Computer Science, University of Mysore (UoM), has organised one-day National Seminar on ‘Applications of Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition in Bioinformatics’ (AMLPRB – 2019) tomorrow (Sept.30) at Vijnana Bhavan, Manasagangothri.
The Seminar will be inaugurated at 10 am by Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, UoM. Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair, Professor and Head, Department of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, will be delivering the keynote address. Dr. Suresha, Chairman, Department of Studies in Computer Science, will preside. Dr. Pritish Varadhwaj from the Department of Bioinformatics, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A), Dr. M. Suresh Kumar from Pondicherry University and Dr. V. Subramaniyam from Indigene, Bengaluru, will deliver lectures.
At the valedictory to be held at 4.30 pm, Prof. Lalitha Rangarajan will be felicitated on her Superannuation.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, Professor, Centre for Bioinformatics, Pondicherry University, will be delivering the valedictory address. Dr. P. Nagabhushan, Professor and Director, IIIT-A, will be delivering the felicitation address. Dr. D.S. Guru, Professor, DoS in CS, will preside.
