Mysuru:  District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Dr. K.S. Gowdaiah Prathishtana have organised a programme titled ‘Sangeeta Rathna Piteelu Chowdaiah — Ondu Nenapu’ under the series ‘Mareyalagada Mahaneeyaru’ tomorrow at 4.30 pm at District Sahitya Bhavana in Vijayanagar First Stage here.

Disclosing this at a press   meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna said that MP Sumalatha Ambarish will inaugurate the programme. MLA L. Nagendra will be the chief guest. Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Deputy Director Dr. T.C. Poornima will deliver a lecture.

Chowdaiah’s family member Vid. Mysuru A. Chandan Kumar will be felicitated on the occasion, said Dr. Rajanna and added that he would appeal Mysuru City Corporation to name a Road or a Circle after Piteelu Chowdaiah in honour of the maestro’s contribution to classical music.

Parishat’s District Hon. Treasurer Rajashekar Kadamba, Prathishtana President G. Prakash and Treasurer Benaka Prasad were present at the press meet.
