Prof. Mahesh Bilwa (64), retired Professor, Department of Studies in Earth Science, University of Mysore and residing near Highway Circle (Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Circle), Bannimantap, passed away yesterday following heart attack.

He leaves behind his wife Usha, son Rakesh Bilwa, Assistant Professor at National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru and a host of relatives and friends.

Prof. Mahesh Bilwa also served as Deputy Registrar of Mysore University besides other important academic responsibilities.

Last rites were held this afternoon in city.
