December 4, 2019

Mysuru: Apollo Emergency Care Centre at Nanjangud has saved a patient from near death after he suffered severe cardiac arrest.

Fifty-three-year-old Sangmesh (name changed), a Head Cashier at a nationalised bank in Nanjangud, reported chest discomfort on Nov. 23 and was rushed to Apollo Emergency Care at 6.15pm. Soon after receiving Sangmesh, he was given all necessary medical attention and initial investigations showed abnormal ECG with MI changes.

When he was being shifted to the ambulance to be taken to Apollo BGS Hospital in Mysuru, he suffered severe cardiac arrest.

The emergency care specialists team at the Centre led by Dr. Niranjini immediately gave the patient two cycles of CPR followed by two rounds of defib shocks thus reviving Sangmesh from a severe cardiac arrest. Dr. Niranjini along with her team proactively took him to Apollo BGS Hospital in Mysuru for further treatment in a full-fledged, fully equipped GPS enabled Apollo ambulance and further medical care was administered.

“During a heart attack, Golden Hour plays a very important role. This Golden Hour was achieved because of the presence of mind the Emergency Specialists at Apollo Emergency Care exhibited.  Sangmesh was discharged on Nov. 27.

Apollo Centre helps not only the people of Nanjangud but also nearby corporates to avail immediate medical emergency services 24×7 on all 365 days, said N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President and Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru.
