Mysuru/Mysore: Urging for fulfilment of their demands, several organisations staged protests near Deputy Commissioner’s Office in city this morning.
Co-ordination of Bank Pensioners and Retirees Organisation: Seeking a uniform family pension on par with the Government and other demands, members of Co-ordination of Bank Pensioners and Retirees Organisation, staged a demonstration.
Their other demands are updation/ revision of pensions to all bank pensioners as granted in case of RBI pensioners, 100 percent DA neutralisation to pre-2002 bank retirees, comprehensive medical health care scheme for bank retirees and revoking of special allowance introduced from 1.11.2012 for the purpose of computation of pension.
Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist): Alleging that the monthly ration for tribals in H.D. Kote and Periyapatna has been stopped while the quantity of ration reduced to others since six months, members of Social Unity Centre of India (SUCI) – Communist and the tribals numbering about 300 too staged a protest.
SUCI District Secretary B. Ravi said that by reducing the quantity and stopping rations to the tribals had put them into a lot of hardship thus depriving the tribals of nutrition. He urged the Government to release the rations with correct quantity to the tribals at the earliest.
Dalita Sangarsha Samithi: Condemning the alleged atrocities on Dalits, members of Dalita Sangarsha Samithi (DSS) staged a protest near DC’s Office and also shouted slogans against the Union Government.
Niveshana Vanchitara Sangha: More than 300 people under the banner of Niveshana Vanchitara Sangha of Yashaswini House Building Co-operative Society, alleging that the Society had not allotted sites to them, staged a protest.
The protesters alleged that despite the Society collecting more than Rs. 80 crore from them, it had not allotted sites. Though they had written letters to MUDA and other officials, no action has been taken till now, they alleged.
They urged the authorities concerned to intervene and get the sites allotted. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the DC in this regard.
