Hyderabad: Mysuru-based actor Poornachandra received the Best Actor Award at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) ceremony held at Hyderabad on Sunday last (May 14), for his role in the Kannada short film ‘Patinga.’
‘Patinga,’ directed by Shashank Soghal, was released in the year 2015.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Poornachandra, who received his maiden award as an actor, said that the award has inspired him to do better work and prove himself as one of the best in the industry.
Poornachandra, who has worked in about 25 short films in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and English languages, will be featuring in the Kannada movie ‘BB5’ also starring Radhika Chethan of ‘Rangitaranga’ fame.
This film is all set for release on May 26.
His another movie ‘Dayavittu Gamanisi,’ directed by Rohit Padaki, is also set for release soon.
Currently, Poornachandra is shooting for the movie ‘Orchestra’ directed by another Mysurean, Sunil.
