Ex-Mayors demand action against anti-national slogan raisers

Mysore/Mysuru: In a display of unity, over 15 former city Mayors, under the banner of ‘Mysuru Ex-Mayors’ Council,’ staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square in city this morning, seeking stern action against women activists Amulya and Arudra, who had raised anti-national slogans at Anti-CAA protests in Bengaluru recently.

Accusing Amulya and Arudra of  showing utter disrespect to the motherland by raising anti-national slogans, the ex-Mayors demanded  punitive action against them for shaming the country by their unwarranted remarks.

Former Mayors Pushpalatha Jagannath, Pushpalatha Chikkanna, T.B. Chikkanna, R. Lingappa, B.L. Byrappa, Narayana, Ananthu, Rajeshwari Puttaswamy, Purushottam, B. Bhagyavathi, Arif Hussain,  Ayub Khan, H.N.Srikantaiah, R.G. Narasimha Iyengar, Modamani, Sandesh Swamy and B.K. Prakash and others were present at the demonstration.
