Conference on ‘Corporate Wellness’

March 6, 2020

Mysuru/Mysore: “Due to lack of trust between banks and industrialists, in the last two years, more than 7,000 industrialists have left this country which is really not a good sign,” said Sri Ravishankar Guruji, founder of Art of Living Foundation, Bengaluru.

He was addressing the participants during the ‘Corporate Wellness Conference 2020’ on the theme ‘Wellness and Well-being for a Progressive Nation’ organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)- Mysuru at Rajendra Centenary auditorium in JSS Hospital here recently.

Ravishankar Guruji said, “Forty years back it was so difficult for corporates to say that there is wellness. They thought that this was not their subject at all and according to them corporate sector meant only job and finance. Those days it took a lot of efforts to convince people. But in present day, these corporates  spend half of their health to gain wealth and spend the other half of their wealth to gain back their health which is not good economics. I am glad CII has taken this as a big initiative, Corporate wellness is abuzz around the world today, and this is a welcome change,” he added.

“People should practice meditation including those working in the corporate sectors. Meditation will not only help them keep calm, but also helps keep their health in good shape and thus improve work efficiency. It also helps in overall development. Meditation which started in India has spread across the world. America alone has invested 27 million dollars in wellness industry. Among Universities in America, 52 Universities have Indology. In India, 40 years ago, Yoga was not taken as profession but today many are taking to Ayurveda and Yoga as professions and this is the way of wellness,” said Ravishankar Guruji.
