Nanjangud: A 45-year-old woman, depressed over her daughter’s death recently, committed suicide by hanging self at her house on Tuesday night.

The deceased woman is Netravathi, wife of late Shivakumar and a resident of 9th cross, Extension Layout here. 

Netravathi’s daughter Supritha had passed away recently following which she (Netravathi) had gone into depression and had consumed excess tablets about five days ago.

She was admitted to a hospital and was discharged after she had recovered. But Netravathi committed suicide on Tuesday night at her home.

Sub-Inspector Ravikumar and staff, rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to the Taluk Hospital where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
