Mysuru: Information Technology (IT) and the Police Department are like two faces of a coin and about 90 percent of crimes are traced with the help of Information Technology, said Kuvempunagar Police Sub-Inspector G. Anusha.
Delivering a technical lecture on ‘Role of Information Technology (IT) in Police Services’ organised by Computer Society of India, Mysuru Chapter, at S.P. Bhat Hall, Institution of Engineering- India (IEI), Mysore Local Centre, on JLB Road in city on May 22, she said that for whatever type of crimes, the Police now seek the help of IT.
She said that in chain-snatching, house burglary, dacoity, murder and other cases, the Police first check the CCTV footages and 90 percent cases are solved, as it is only through IT that the Police can get clues. She called upon the gathering to make use of IT to do good for the society.

CSI Mysuru Chapter Chairperson Anitha Venkatesh, Secretary Arundevi, Institution Secretary B.V. Ravindranath and others were present during the lecture programme.
