National Webinar on ‘Finger Prints’: ‘Use of latest technology is best way to detect crime’

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that there is a criminal network working at different levels for finding out bank transactions and passwords of account holders using nano technology for the criminal purpose of committing cash phishing and financial frauds,  Dr. G.B. Aravind, Associate Professor in Criminology & Forensic Science, Dept. of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, JSS Medical College in city, said that the best way of detection of crimes is appropriate use of the latest technology to pick up whatever finger prints or other evidences that the criminals may have left behind at the spot or scene of crime.

He was speaking after inaugurating a National-level Webinar organised on the latest developments regarding finger prints, by the College in association with the Department of Criminology and Forensic Medicine of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College here recently.

Explaining the occurrence of crimes using the finger prints imprinted Bank Debit cards, Dr. Aravind observed that most of cyber crimes have been occurring because of the insecure nature of finger prints.

Stressing on the need for the present day youth to have a full understanding of finger prints, he shed light on investigations using medical techniques, importance of education and the re-construction of finger prints.

More than 160 teaching faculty from different colleges and  subject enthusiasts from across the country took part and a e-certificate of participation was distributed to all of them.

SBRR  Mahajana College Acting Principal Dr. P.G. Pushparani, Department of Criminology and Forensic Sciences Head K. Raghavendra, Technical Division Convenor Thejas, Sheshadripuram College Faculty Thejas, Systems Administrator Manjunath, Mahesh, Priyanka and others were present.
