CIIL’s online workshop for Telugu Teachers and Research Scholars

Mysore/Mysuru: A five-day online training-cum-workshop on Testing and Evaluation for Assistant Professors, Lecturers, Teachers and Research Scholars of Telugu from all over India, began at National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru, on Monday. 

Prof. P.R. Dharmesh Fernandez, Professor-cum-Deputy Director, CIIL and Head, Centre for Testing and Evaluation, introduced  the activities of CIIL. 

He emphasised on the importance of practice in item writing in understanding the concept of testing and evaluation and also provided details about upcoming training programmes for Kannada, Tamil and Urdu teachers. 

Dr. Pankaj  Dwivedi,  Officer  In-charge  of  NTS-I,  highlighted the  importance  of  understanding  of  educational  theory  and  practice. He assured that this workshop will provide the teachers with solutions to deal with the common problems faced by the students while preparing for and writing their examinations. 

Dr.  M. Narayana Reddy, Junior Resource Person (JRP)-Academic, welcomed. Prof. G. Narasimhan, Dean, Department of Language and Comparative Literature, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Andhra Pradesh; Dr. B. Chandra Shekar, Assistant Professor, Department  of Telugu, Government Degree College, Metpally, Telangana; Prof. Viswanthappa and Prof. P. R. Harinath, both from Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru; NTS-I faculties  Dr. V. Ilangovan, Dr. R. Shakunthala and Technical JRPs Ancy Thomas, K. S. Raghavan, Amit Kumar Jha,  N. Kashyap and Ghazala Sulatana will train the participants in this online workshop. 

Dr.  M. Narayana Reddy is coordinating the workshop. Prof. D. G. Rao, Director, CIIL, is overall patron of the workshop. 

Sixty-five teachers and research scholars, who are engaged in teaching/research of Telugu from various Higher Secondary Schools, Universities and Colleges, are participating in this online training, according to Dr. N. Murali Mohana, Officer (General), NTS-I, CIIL, Mysuru.
