Full occupancy in KSRTC buses: Not a good move

September 23, 2020

Sir,

The recent order by the Government permitting KSRTC buses to have 100 percent occupancy is not a good move when the pandemic is on a rampage.

People from different places board a bus and sit without social distancing norms, rubbing shoulders with co-passengers — a sure recipe for a disaster waiting to happen. Even if one asymptomatic Covid positive passenger boards the bus there is every chance for a spread of the pandemic among a few passengers who in turn will infect many other citizens.

Hence, on behalf of the concerned citizens I request the Transport Department authorities to immediately revert back to the earlier policy of limited passengers only for the safety of one and all.
