Mysuru: Marking the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations and 75th birthday of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, prosthetic equipment were distributed to specially-abled children at Nada Mantapa of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama on Ooty Road here yesterday.

More than 100 specially-abled children registered with the District Rehabilitation Centre (DRC), coming under the Department for the Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, were the beneficiaries.

Goa’s Panchayat Raj Minister Mauvin Godinho and the Ashrama’s Junior Pontiff Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji distributed the equipment.

About 50 mentally-retarded children were distributed learning kits, while 20 children suffering from Cerebral Palsy (CP) were given CP care kits, 20 disabled children standing frames, 10 physically-challenged children folding walkers, 5 children air beds, 5 children water beds & 10 children child-size wheel-chairs.
