Release of 3 books on Nov. 8

Three books titled ‘Prabodha,’ ‘Rangaspanda’ and ‘Nelada Taaregalu’ written by thinker and writer G.N. Bhatt will be released at a programme jointly organised by Priyadarshana Samskritika Vedike, Srirangapatna and Natana at Natana Rangashale in Ramakrishnanagar on Nov. 8 at 10 am. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri will preside. Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa and columnist N. Ravishankar will be the chief guests. Police Training School Principal Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti will release the books while Scholar Dr. Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj will speak about the books. Noted actor Mandya Ramesh and writer G.N. Bhatt will be present.

The book ‘Prabodha’ is a collection of 51 thought-provoking articles published in a Kannada newspaper while ‘Rangaspanda’ is a collection of 15 critical essays on theatre and the articles in ‘Nelada Taaregalu’ were written by the author on the occasion of birthday celebrations of Dr. Shivaram Karanth, Masti, Tilak, Netaji, Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa, K.T. Ghatti, Patil Puttappa and other eminent personalities.

Wins ‘Special Award’ for Best Engineering Project
The project titled ‘Driver Drowsiness Detection and Pedestrian Recognition for Vehicles Using Raspberry Pi’ by the students of the Department of Telecommunication Engineering (TCE), GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Metagalli, has won the ‘Special Award – Mobility for Impact’ during the Best Project Award Ceremony for IEEE Student Humanitarian Technology Project (SHTP) organised by IEEE Bangalore Section recently.

The project was carried out by M.M. Chaitra, P. Bhuvikaa Priyaa, M.C. Kumuda and N. Pooja, under the guidance of Dr. B.D. Parameshachari, Professor and Head, Department of TCE and won a Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000.
