Expo on achievements of Congress Govt. opens

Mysuru: District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa yesterday inaugurated a two-day exhibition at Maharaja’s College Grounds highlighting various schemes and projects implemented by the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah in the last four years.

As many as 50 stalls have been set up by various Departments and eight districts that fall under Mysuru revenue division comprising Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Udupi, Chikkamagalur, Dakshina Kannada and Hassan.

The exhibition has been organised as part of ‘Kotta Maatu Ditta Sadhane” event to showcase Congress government’s achievements. Special LED screens have been installed at the venue to display various schemes of the government.

The representatives of the respective departments will explain to people about the government schemes and also tell them about the procedure to be followed in order to avail them. Siddharamaiah government’s flagship programmes like Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya and Pashu Bhagya have been highlighted by the respective departments through models.

Departments participating in the exhibition include Zilla Panchayat – Mysuru, Panchayat Raj Engineering Department, Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan, Department of Public Instructions, Food and Civil Supplies Department, MCC, MUDA, CESC, Women and Child Development Department, Disabled Welfare Department, Tribal Development Department, Police Department, Tourism Department, Information Department, Animal Husbandry Department, PWD, Women and Child Welfare and Social Welfare Departments.

The departments have also printed hundreds of booklets to publicise various finished and unfinished works. A booklet brought out by MUDA throws light on various development works like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Circle, Dr B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan, Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Maharshi Valmiki Bhavan, newly-developed layouts like R.T. Nagar, development of Outer Ring Road and the proposed affordable housing schemes.

After inaugurating the exhibition, Dr. Mahadevappa witnessed a street play that has been specially prepared to highlight the achievements of Siddharamaiah government.

Drama troupes will travel across the State to reach the development programmes of the government to the people.

MLAs Vasu and M.K. Somashekar, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, Zoo Authority of Karnataka Chairperson Mallige Veeresh, former ZP President Dr. Pushpa Amarnath, former Women’s Commission Chairperson Manjula Manasa, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeshwara Rao and others were present.
